Foci (New)

Karma Foci (Modified from Previous Rules)

• Required Skills : Artificing (Enchanting Skill Group)
• Required Metatalents : Windscapes
• Requirements (Special) : GoI > Rating of Foci
• First Bonding Cost : Rating x 8 Karma

This foci allows for two special effects to characters.  One of them is regards to mundanes to whom the foci is attuned.  The second is for magicians of specific skills.

Mundane Characters & Passive Magical Entities

The foci allows for the character to develop their Edge attribute above and beyond their normal racial maximums.  The rating of the foci is the additional points that an individual may develop their Edge attribute.  The karma cost for the development of the attribute is as per normal attribute development with regards to karma cost.  Further more, the foci cannot allow an individual to raise any Edge attribute greater than twice the racial maximum for a species.   For instance, a Human could in theory with a rating 7 or greater Karma Foci develop their Edge attribute to a 14, provided they spend the additional karma to develop the attribute accordingly.  Should a character possess (and have bonded for them by a magician capable of performing the bonding) two or more such foci, only the highest rating foci is applicable.

Active Magical Beings

The foci works as a Power Foci in all regards with regards to any application of Karma and/or Edge attribute, up to and including resisting the Twist Fate power that is possessed by some beings such as Greater Dracoforms.
